Memento — Stoic Journal

This Privacy Policy describes how Memento ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. Memento is developed and operated by Alexander Ritter as an independent developer.
When you create an account, we collect your email address through Supabase, our authentication provider. This email is used solely to authenticate your account, allow password recovery, and sync your data across devices.
Memento stores the content you create in the app, including:
This content is stored securely on Supabase servers and is associated only with your account. It is never shared, sold, analyzed for advertising purposes, or used for any reason other than providing the app's core functionality.
Photos attached to your daily entries are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or to any third party.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any form of marketing.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR). We process your account information on the basis of contractual necessity under GDPR Article 6(1)(b) — providing the app's functionality requires authentication and data sync. Account creation itself is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a), which you may withdraw at any time by deleting your account (see Section 7).
Account data and journal content are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. For more details on Supabase's security practices, see Supabase's privacy policy.
Photos remain on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
Retention period. We retain your account and journal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from Supabase within 7 days, as described in Section 7. Inactive accounts are not automatically deleted — you remain in control of your data until you choose to remove it.

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics services, or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party, except as required to provide the service (i.e., data stored on Supabase) or as required by law.

To delete your account and all associated data, send an email to ritteralexander1996@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete Account" from the email address associated with your account. Your data will be permanently removed within 7 days.
Memento is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or via email where possible.
